Hi All
I remember us all saying that we wanted to take part in a run, see link below. Its a fun run, only 2 mile and will be good warm up for those who are running the race for life at Pennington Flash. At £2.50 its cheaper than a pint and if you run fast enough you will have earned yourself a pie and pint back at the clubhouse after the run!!!
Let me know if your interested, below is the link, print off fill in and give me the forms and cheques / cash, I will taken to the club

Morning Ladies
Due to my phone call from Sarah at GMTV, I have decided to postpone weigh in until Tuesday, when GMTV want to come and record a typical weigh in.
I did tell them that it currently takes place in the disabled loos, and we have moved the weigh in to the upstairs empty office.
I will speak to Sarah on Monday to confirm time, clothes etc.. and will update you then.
Lets have a really good weight loss week end!!!

Week 5 - Team photo
Hi Ladies,
I hope wev'e all had a good week / Valentines weekend? As you can see, the team photo is now on the blog. I will try to personalise as much as I can, I did mention the before and during pictures fro GMTV, this got me thinking, (Stop!!!! I hear you cry, but sometimes I do have good ideas!) we could have one of our own. Each week I could focus on some one and how well they done, in the hope it will inspire us even more!!!
This weeks stats are as follows :
Only two losers this week, Biggest loser is Elaine, with a 2lb loss!! well done, closely followed by, yours truely, with a 1lb loss. It all counts. We have 4 maintainers, which is also brilliant, as these 4 have either already had a considerable loss, are within their target and so are just kepping it steady.
We do have 2 gainers though, I know Claire is disapointed as she had been going to the gym all week and expected to lose again - Don't give up, give it a few weeks at the gym to kick start your metabolism and you'll be losing again in no time!! Remember, even though you go to the gym, you still have to eat healthily and at the right times, not at 9 O'clock at night!!
Ann is our other gainer, for the second week. I think you may need to relook at what your eatting, and check out the calorie / nutritional info on the pack. Although a veggie burger sounds healthy, I have a feeling there could be hidden fat in it, not forgetting the bread - shock horror. I can almost hear Emma screaming at the computer screen (she has issues with bread, its the devil in Emmas eyes!!) Maybe you should plan your meals even down to the snacks you allow yourself. This way you only buy what you plan to eat and even if your peckish there's nothing you can do about it!! - WORKS FOR ME
My Hubby is on an extreme health kick at the mo and has put together a really simple, quick and healthy evening meal.
Fresh, Rice Noodles, strips of chicken breast and sweet chilli sauce.
Its easy and all done in the same frying pan and then pour the sweet chilli sauce over to coat the noodles - Rice noodles have less carlories that usual egg noodles and taste Dlish!!
For breakfast I am still raving about my 1 toast and poached egg - keeps hunger locked up till lunch and thats a fact!!
I interupt this blog to let you know I have just seen myself on GMTV's weight loss club!! shocking!!!, will post the link then you can have a gander!!!
Anyway, its valentines nite, my Hubby and I have just had a lovely soak in the bath together whilst sipping pink Lanson!!! I shall join him down stairs now for a cuddle!!!
Good luck for Fridays weigh in!! xxx

GMTV update 10/02/2010
Well after my last blog I was inundated with before and after pictures for GMTVs new website - NOT
I emailed mine over to Olly this morning, and was surprised to get a call from a lady asking me questions regarding my weight loss, what I found really helped and also how much more was I wanting to lose. So If I was you I'd be checking the GMTV web site for the pictures below!!!
Just by saying out loud how much youv'e lost can really make you feel good. I hadn't realised how much I'd lost. Although I've lost 6lb since Christmas, Iv'e actually lossed 11lb in total!!! This has now inspired me to try to lose just a few extra pounds in time for my holiday on 3rd March. I will need someone to look after the blog for that weeks weigh ins please - don't be shy!!! You can have a week to shine and be the "Fat Controller".
Oh, team photo has been postponed until Friday - we have a full team in!!!
Still no followers on my blog!!!

Aftermath of Blackpool!!! Week 4
Well, Hello ladies!!
Hope you're all enjoying the new blog. Can I ask that you all sign up / follow, so I don't look like a "billy no mates" with no followers!!!!
Well I am sure you have all heard about the possibility of GMTV wanting to do a follow up on our club? If not where have you all been this week??? For the majority it wasn't looking at what passed your lips!! Yes, a bad week for most. Must do better next week ladies. tut, tut
As you know GMTV have asked for our before and after pictures and a short "inspirational" sentence. Come on, get with the programme. Embrace the possible fame element - its something to show your kids & grand kids!! Its not often we get the chance to shine!!!
I am trying really hard to fill the time before getting down to the stats, as they make for pitiful reading :(
We only have two losers this week, two!!!
I am pleased to say its our two dancing princesses, Claire and Vanessa. Claire being the biggest loser, having a loss of 4lb this week!! Well done. Although Vanessa had a loss of 1lb, this was very disappointing to her as she tried really hard to be good!!! I suspect the Large glass of Baileys, oh and the full fruit loaf she took from the works kitchen could possibly of had something to do with her not losing more!!!!!
General feedback was overall disappointment from everyone, but with each came an excuse of why they hadn't lossed anything. Lets hope this is just a bad week on the whole.
TIPS:
When you have a lapse and feel the need to shovel anything and everything in your mouth, just let it be for that period of time and gain the control back, instead of tossing the rest of the day or even week off. This way you are, in your own way showing will power, which in time will grow stronger and stronger. Theres Manya times I would have a bad day and say to myself "oh well, that's that, I will start again on Monday" Each week Monday would come and by Tuesday I was saying them same script, over and over again!!!
Just say to yourself "I am in control of me, not food" Give yourself a goal. Mine is to look slim and fantastic in my bikini on my holiday in 4 weeks!!!!
WHAT I NEED FROM YOU
1) Team photo on Wednesday, no excuses!!
2) your aim / goal / inspirational sentence (not your ideal weight)
3) A picture with you showing a little more poundage than now
4) A new slim recent photo
5) To sign up to the blog, send the link to your friends / family, they can follow it too
Back to the weigh in!!!
Well as you can gather, as we only had two losers, the rest have all gained, with the exception of Michell, who has maintained for the last two weeks and Emma, who has failed to weigh in this week!!
Just to remind people, Em and Claire are on pay as you weigh, whilst the rest still have one more free week!!!
Claire paid up this week, whilst Em will owe £2 when she weighs in on Monday. As I said you can pay weekly or monthly, I do not mind, what evers easiest!!!
GOOD LUCK FOR NEXT WEEK & HAPPY READING!!!! XXXX
A Breakfast treat!! This is for Elaine, as she doesn't like eggs :)
Chocolate Toasties
Have half a grapefruit to start with and then spread two slices of toast with a teaspoon of chocolate spread, tuck in and enjoy.
Why it's good: Half a grapefruit before meals has been shown to help people to feel less hungry and counts as one fruit for the day. As for the toast, if you stick with a teaspoon of chocolate spread per slice of toast, the calories are around the same as having butter or sunflower spread and helps to quell chocolate cravings.
another one to definitely wet your appetite
Sausage and Beans Big Breakfast
Grill a reduced fat sausage (about 100 calories each) and heat through a small can of reduced salt and reduced sugar baked beans. Serve with a large grilled tomato.
Why it's good: Baked beans give you slow release energy and keep blood sugar levels even and steady helping you to feel satisfied and away from the mid-morning biscuits. Baked beans and tomatoes give us the super nutrient lycopene believed to be good for our skin.
High Fibre Cereal Bowl
Choose a high fibre cereal like Oatibix, Weetabix, Bran Flakes or Shredded Wheat. Serve around a 40g portion with about 150ml of skimmed milk and topped with a sliced banana.
Why it's good: The fibre in the cereal is filling along with the protein in the milk both of which help to keep you feeling satisfied in the morning. Bananas give us potassium which is a mineral needed for good blood pressure control and are one of our five a day.

Fat Fighters Ltd Week 3
Well ladies, what an eventful week it’s been.
First of all I’d like to say Happy 40th Birthday to Elaine.
Secondly, with the grand opening of our new website, click on the link below and follow the weekly blog. Also I thought it would be good to add a team picture / individual profiles!! Let me know what you think or if you would like to add anything else to the blog. I will add all our old blogs eventually!
http://fat-fighters-ltd.blogspot.com/
Thirdly, Two of our ladies appeared on GMTV to inspire the nation to dance and lose weight. It started on a cold Friday morning at 5 am, when Claire and Vanessa sped down the motorway to Join Camilla Dallerup (the dancing Queen of Strictly) at the Tower Ballroom in
They said there was a chance that they may want to interview us, but seeing as over 90,000 people signed up to the diet I thought, we had more chance of pi**ing in the wind. Within 10 minutes of arriving I was miked up and ready to rock and roll!!!! We practiced our interview and although I got my words a little mixed up, everything went smoothly. We carried on dancing and then much to Claire’s surprise, they shouted for her!!
I’ve never seen someone look as if they really wanted to ground to open up and swallow them, but not before she killed me first!!
Anyway, Claire was a natural and even made reference to getting in her bikini!! I wish I could say the same for her dancing skills. No co-ordination and the camera man seemed to love it as he crossed to Claire every time she put a foot wrong!!!
I on the other hand, was giving Camilla a run for her money! The sound check man described me as the good looking one – and no, he didn’t have a white stick, although he did look old enough to be my granddad. Still every compliment counts.. Right?
The morning was really good, think on the whole we danced on and off for around two hours, so you can imagine how eager I was to get beck to work and onto those scales. I have asked GMTV for a DVD from the show, and will post online.
Back to the clubs stats
Not many losers this week, but plenty of maintainers. As I’ve always said, maintaining is always better that gaining.
Biggest loser this week is our new recruit – Ann, having lost another 2lbs this week, making 4lb upto now! Ann still ate out for a Sunday lunch and even a curry mid week, the key was to choose sensible options and here’s proof that it works – Well Done!!!
Also well done for “still” keeping off the fags!! Applause
Having lost an impressive 6lb last week, it appears the yo-yo dieter is back, although Vanessa has only put 2lb on, lets hope this is not another slippery slope. Consistency is what we are looking for!!
Although Fran has gained 1lb, she is still within her goal weight, so not to worry too much!!
Maintainers, Emma, Elaine, Michelle, Bev and Claire, good going, although I am sure that due to our appearance on GMTV this will inspire us all to keep going. I will let you into a little secret, Sarah from GMTV did ask if it was OK for her to contact us in a month or so to check on our diet clubs progress. Let’s give her and us something to write about!!
Speaking to Amanda the nutritionist (my new friend from GMTV) I am in agreement that forward planning of meals is the way forward. By doing this, you will only buy what you intend to eat from the supermarket and will not be tempted to snack, as there will be nowt in! Also with forward planning, you will look forward to your meals more. Try it next week and see how you get on.
Good luck.

Subject: Weight loss programme
Hi All
Apologies for the delay in posting our weight Loss news!!!!
Biggest loser for this week is Emma, losing 5lb - well done
Overall Bev & Fran has lost the most weight 6lb each in total so far, closely being chased by "The Codd Meister" how has lost 4lb in total.
A disapointing week for the rest of us as the majority have put on. I blame this on a visit from Genus Suffolk, who very kindly came bearing, not javascript:void(0)just any chocolates & biscuits but M&S chocolates & biscuits.
We need to stay positive & focused ladies!!! Remember those Christmas dresses or skinny jeans you all want to get into!!!!
Good Luck for the rest of this week.

You have all been given food trackers, courtesy of Fran & for anyone who may have been disappointed with there weigh in may be wise if they fill the tracker to see where they could be going wrong!!
Again well done everyone & the race is on!!!

Week 8a Weight Loss club
Hi Ladies!!
Well I have to say a brilliant week this week!!!!
The maintainers are finally making a move!!! And as usual the gold members are, again, showing us how its done & yes, are still losing weight!!!!
Not sure how some of us have managed to lose after whats passed our lips, but it all counts - just think how much could have been lost if we really put our minds to it!!!
Of the group, only 2 have put weight on this week, I think both of them are on a "star" week so had it not been for that we could of had a record weight loss week.
I haven't got a bad word to say about anyone. But I still need to know if everyone is up for lunch / tea & drinks on the 5th Dec,
Bev, Elaine, Fran, Miche, Emma & myself are all confirmed that just leaves the Mighty Codd to confirm if shes coming. Fran needs £5 deposit, so will use the weigh in money & what ever is left we can put towards the meal. Elaine has the menu & if you tell her what you like I am sure she will pick you something to eat - as she has done for me!!!!
Biggest losers this week are Elaine & Vanessa having lost 3lb each - round of applause please!!!!
Hey, my best tip of all, I know most of you will have heard me banging on, but this is the new bake well tart or almond slice without the calories, put this combo on your shopping list - flaked almonds & cherry infused raisins - I will have some in my draw & will let you sample them, they are "to die for"!!!! trust me.
links /tips!
How to cheat at dieting - check out the link below
http://www.gm.tv/lifestyle/diet/41333-green-coffee-body-shaping-massage.html
You are more likely to keep to a healthy routine if you have a set goal like a charity bike ride or 10k that you could sign up for with a friend to keep you motivated. Suggestion - On the 1st Sunday of each month there is a 3 mile race at Alexander park, Moss side, its approx £5 & is totally flat & just 3 times round the park. Its a course that Michelle, Bev, Elaine & myself have done before & would be good for us all to go & run it together, give support & encouragement & something to aim to. - Let me know what you think or if you have any other suggestions of other motivational activities we can do. Even a walk up Rivington or anything that gets us out in the fresh air & speeds up our heart rate!!!
Watch out for the saboteurs
The more successful you are, sadly the more others around you will try to sabotage your efforts because they are jealous. So they will call you boring for not going down the pub, rather than going out to for a walk. Resist them and remind yourself who will be happier and healthier. You or them!
Good luck everyone for the week ahead!!!

Week 8.Archive
Hi All
Sorry its late, I took the cards home to complete with every intention of adding my usual witty blog, but I left the weigh in results at work - DOH!!!
Nevermind, I'm here now, although not as witty as usual, its way passed my bed time, beauty sleep is defo needed, pity sleep doesn't help with weight loss or I'd spend many a mornings lay in my pit!!!
Fran & Miche have been exercising to the extreme this weekend, Miche with her 4 mile X-Country on Saturday, half marathon on Sunday & even ventured out last night & did a 4 miler with myself & Bev --Brrrr it was bloody cowd!!
I did txt Fran on Sunday morning to find that she also had been for her morning run, made Darren his bacon butties & resisted temptation & opted for Special K - mmmm, well done???!! Having stuck to her strict regime, Fran rewarded herself by spending the rest of Sunday shopping for new clothes in the Trafford Centre. Note to self - must refuse the bacon butties next week!!
This weeks weigh ins as follows :
3 maintainers, well I say 3, its only 2 people that have maintained, one seemed to evade the scales this week - cant think why?? Pontins not serve lettuce butties & water??
2 of us have gained, but this is OK as they have already achieved their target weights. Just week doing what you are doing ladies!! Well Done
We have 2 losers this week, still the biggest loser is Emma, having lost another 4lb this week - only 3lb off achieving your target weight & the infamous "Gold Star!, or which ever colour I have spare!!! Only joking.
Big round of applause for Elaine who at long great last has lost some weight, albeit a 1lb, but as we all know "a pound off is better than a pound on" Lets hope this is the motivation she needs & her weight loss card will make for excellent viewing!
Issue - Ladies, weigh in money does not grow on trees, please can you all try to ensure that you are all upto date with your debts for this Friday or I will send the bailiffs in!!
Suggestion - 5th Dec is when a few of the girls are going shopping in town - German market is on & then for a Thai meal. Cheap & cheerful. It would also be a time for any of us to do xmas shopping or just chill / unwind without the kids. Fran, Bev, Naomi & Elaine are already going.
Let me know what you think.
I'm not going to add tips this week - sorry to disappoint!!

Week 7 Weight Loss club
Hi Ladies
It’s been a hard week this week, with illness’s, birthday & holiday chox in the camp. I only hope that we have all installed a little discipline in our diets. As we know, the scales don’t lie!!!
Not a bad week for our team, we have a few yoyo dieters & thankfully some of them was on holiday & were unable to weigh in. It will be interesting to see how they have got on when they step on the dreaded scales.
On a more encouraging note, Fran is now a “gold Member” not only reaching her target weight, but exceeding it & smashing it by a whole pound – applause for Fran please!!!
Well done to Bev who as well as Fran is wasting away, the search party is ready to come & find you too!!! Bev already reached her goal weight on the 8th October, but is continuing to shed the pounds. Bev is 3lb under her target weight – another applause for Bev please!!
Emma, again on a losing streak, not yet reaching her goal weight, but not far to go now, having lost 2lb this week & an amazing 7lb in total so far. Keep it up.
Now… I have put the ones who were on holiday into the maintainers’ category… I’m not really sure what to say, are we really putting enough effort in? Do we really want to lose weight? I think that if we try really hard for the next week or two, sacrifice our Kit Kats & bread, it may just kick start us & give us the lift & confidence we need to continue.
You don’t have to deny yourself your favourite foods- if you crave chocolate, buy the smallest bar you can and limit yourself to a couple of bites, only when you really need it, or feel that you've earned it
We need to think before we make our choices, sometimes we eat for the sake of it or “because it tastes nice”, but we’re not actually hungry. – We are all guilty of that one!!!
Loser of the week is Fran, losing 3lb this week!!!
Tips
- Drink plenty of water with your meals, not only will you feel fuller quicker but water stops your metabolism slowing down
- Slow down & chew your food more, if you chew more your brain thinks its eating more & psychologically you will, again feel fuller quicker – result!!
- I’ve said it before, plan your meals for the full week & apply this to your shopping list. If you only buy what you’ve actually planned to cook & eat there will be no snacks / goodies in the fridge or cupboard to temp you!!!
- keep hydrated- aim to drink 2-3 litres of water a day, cordial, tea and coffee all count
- Don’t leave the house without a bottle of water and a few healthy snacks in your bag, then, if you're running late, you always have something to keep hunger at bay

Week 6 Archive
Hi Ladies
Yes, it’s me, even with swine flu, there’s no way of hiding from me!!! I only hope that the late posting of my email has not left you out in the wilderness alone & having to fend for yourselves??
Right, lets get down to stats, I haven't got long as this swine flu really takes it out of you, and after the initial 2 days of felling like I had been beaten & that my fingers had been trapped in a car door I am left exhausted & no energy.
Well, we only have 1 loser this week, and that’s our lovely Emma "Gummy" Storey - who has lost an impressive 4lb this week!!! That’s 2 more than she lost last week. And not one to tempt fate, but a birdie tells me Emma could be under the 9st mark on Friday!!!! GET IN THERE (high five & a round of applause for Em).
With 4 of us maintaining our weights from last week & 2 putting on, I am presuming some of us may be getting a bit disheartened???
We are all here & in the same boat, we all have our good days & bad days. But with Christmas coming up its time to take drastic action, especially with all the chocolate that’s probably going to be on offer!!!
I suggest we make a stand - All chocolate should be put in the kitchen, that way we will be less tempted, and those who insist on bringing in chocolates, sweets & biscuits must be told to eat them discreetly & not to offer them out.
Remember, we are "choosing" to not have that chocolate digestive, we are "choosing" to be slim & healthy. After all being healthy is more important!!!
I have issued Bev with her Gold Star - she is now a "Gold Member!!!
Keep up the good work everyone!!
Will add words of inspiration & tips next week - Sorry ladies.xx

Week 5, archive
Week 5
Nothing much to report this week, we only have 1 loser this week – Well done Claire “The mighty Codd”!!!!
A small few have maintained their weight & a few have gained. We do have a few people on there “star” week so this could be a reason for our static results.
I am hoping to see the pounds shift next week for the above.
To date the biggest losers so far are Michelle, Bev & Fran all losing an impressive 7lb each.
Claire & Emma are not far behind, losing 3lb each. Elaine & myself, well, the only positive we can take is that we haven’t any weight on from our original starting weight. I don’t need to tell either of us that more effort may be needed on our parts!!
Hopefully Friday will bring more smiling faces!!!
Good Luck everyone. Only 10 more weigh ins till Christmas!!!!
